Fuerteventura in Black and White

While recently editing the photographs for my post about Teguise, the landscape images I had taken in the winter of 2009 during a holiday on Fuerteventura came unbidden to mind. This Canary Island, too, left a lasting impression on me – not least because of its barren, volcanically shaped expanses, very similar to the volcanic landscape of Lanzarote.

Between White Walls and Old Wood – A Photo Walk through Teguise

Anyone travelling on Lanzarote who wants to leave the noise of the coastal resorts behind should also make a trip to Teguise. Not to Costa Teguise, the modern holiday resort, but to the actual Villa de Teguise in the island’s interior. Here, on a gentle rise below the volcano Guanapay, lies one of the best-preserved historic town centres in the Canary Islands.

Lost Place in Frankfurt: Former Police Headquarters

On 10 May 2026, I visited the former Police Headquarters in Frankfurt am Main together with a friend. We took part in a guided tour led by a former criminal commissioner. He guided us through the vast building with great expertise and shared numerous stories – both about the architecture and history of the complex and about the people who were once imprisoned there.
